Warehouse living in Marrickville

Mills Corner

Mills Corner

Our Property

This sun-drenched one-bedroom apartment is located on the top corner of the historic Globe Mills. Originally built in 1921, the former wool mill was converted into luxury apartments in 2006. Atop its perch, sweeping views to the east and south flood the apartment with natural light. Surrounded by trees, the apartment is walking distance to The Factory Theatre, Enmore Theatre, and the hustle and bustle of Newtown. Inside, however, the double-glazed windows maintain a quiet and cosy sanctuary.

Accessibility

Neighborhood

It's just a short stroll (approx. 1km) to Enmore Road and King Street, Newtown, which boast some of the best restaurants in Sydney. If you don't want to go that far, the famous dog-friendly pub: The Vic On The Park, is only 350m from your front door. Marrickville Metro is a fully featured shopping centre with multiple grocery stores, and is an 850 metre walk via Enmore park.

Guest Access

Guests will have full access to the one-bedroom apartment and designated parking space in a secure garage upon request. A gym, pool, deck area, and community bookshelf also available to guests on level 1. Accessing the car space can be quite tight, please be prepared to take it slow and bring help to reverse if you need to. Please let me know if you'd like to park there and I can send detailed instructions before you arrive. The fold-out couch in the living room is really comfortable, my guests have confirmed, however it is quite low and may be difficult to access for those with restricted mobility.

Good to know

Enjoy the spacious double high ceilings of the combined kitchen and living area. The bedroom and bathroom are upstairs, with a laundry under the stairs. There is a comfortable workspace in the main living room with an adjustable-height standing desk, a large curved computer monitor, and very fast internet - (1000/1000mbps). The comfy couch folds out into a sofa bed, for cosy enjoyment of the massive LG smart TV. The building offers a pool to cool off, and a gym to maintain your routine. Please be aware that the apartment is directly under the flight path, however, the heavy-duty double-glazing throughout is very effective at keeping even the largest jet engines to nothing but a soft purr. A plane-spotter's dream.

Other Details to Note

It's a pet-friendly building, and you are welcome to bring yours. Please keep animals on a leash in all common areas of the building.

We stayed at Luke & Georgias place for 1 night and it was perfect. We loved the lounge & kitchen area, lots of sunlight through the beautiful large windows. There was everything you needed to be comfortable. They were very responsive and helpful and had some good local recommendations. This will definitely be our point of place to stay in Sydney now!

We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was lovely, light filled and comfortable. We were able to walk to lots of nice food places and we loved the view from the apartment. Luke was really friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again!

Thanks to Luke and Georgia for an amazing stay. This is the most at home I have ever felt in an Airbnb. There were so many thoughtful touches throughout. Highlights were cooking and realising I had everything we needed from kitchen scales to bag clips, thoughtfully placed umbrellas to borrow at the entrance, multi-port charging cable in the bedroom. I also worked for the duration of the stay and the big wide screen monitor and LAN connection made that seamless and the beautiful big windows in the backdrop made my colleagues very envious. Finally amazing and friendly communication from Luke throughout the stay. Really seems like a great guy and went above and beyond. Would highly recommend!

Luke's flat in Marrickville was exactly what I needed for my time in Sydney. The location was centrally located near a number of bus stops, which enabled easy access to Central Sydney. Marrickville itself is a super cool neighborhood/suburb surrounded by cafes, breweries, markets, and restaurants. I highly recommend Luke's flat for any solo traveler or couple looking to immerse themselves in the heart of one of Sydney's coolest neighborhoods.

My partner and I just spent three nights at Luke’s apartment. From the moment we walked in, it felt like a little peaceful oasis in the city. The apartment had everything we needed. Thoughtful little touches throughout that made it feel more like a home than a rental. While the area is under a flight path (as many parts of Marrickville are), the soundproofing really does work which was one of the reasons I chose it as I am a light sleeper. Luke was an amazing host, friendly, responsive, and made sure everything went smoothly for our stay. His dog and cat were also super cute too. I will be returning again. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy, convenient, and beautifully kept stay in the inner west.

It was our first time at Luke's place & won't be the last! Had a 4-night stay with my husband & 7yo & we loved the place. It was as described & looked in the photos, clean & felt bigger than expected. Perfect urban location with friendly neighbours, within 5-10 mins walk to cafes, pubs/restos/theatre, supermarket & Enmore Park/aquatic centre. Had not stayed in this area before & chose it to be walking distance to our Newtown friends. Yes, it's on a flight path but the whole of Marrickville/Newtown essentially is, so you'd hear the planes from anywhere you stay in these areas. But Luke's place is pretty much triple glazed which helps. We experienced no flights overnight, my husband & kid could still sleep in & by day 2 we were accustomed like locals. We felt truly at home that we had a day indoors only leaving for food & some obligatory outdoor time for our kid. Luke deserves the superhost title - he is communicative, helpful & just overall lovely! Happy we've found our Sydney base :)

I really enjoyed my stay here. The place is really beautiful, so much natural light and very welcoming. My self and the doggos were super comfortable. I loved the access to a specific desk space / work area as I work while I travel. The instructions were thorough and clear and the attention to detail to help guests around the apartment was really helpful. Parking was easy enough to find, I didn't end up using the allocated parking space. The neighbours were all friendly. Keen to stay again on another trip :) Thanks Luke!

This is my 4th time coming to Sydney, and each time has had its ups and downs re: accommodation. This is the first time I have had only positive experiences with my stay. Luke was extremely helpful, clear and timely with his responses. Not only that, but during my stay he prioritised my comfortability and privacy. The place itself was beyond beautiful, photos don’t do justice and it is even prettier in person. Perfect amount of space and every amenity I could ever need. I will ONLY be staying here for any future trips to Sydney from now on. Forever grateful to have stayed in this incredible location.

Location

Sorry we're unable to show you the location for this property

--- Parking --- There is free and untimed street parking, though it is usually fairly busy, so you may need to park a block or two away. Alternatively, you can park in the dedicated car space in the underground car space. If you'd like to park here, please let me know so that I can arrange access for you. --- Public Transport --- There are several bus stops less than 400 meters away, which have many busses going directly to the city. These are on both Addison Road, and Enmore Road. Stanmore train station is the closest, however it is approximately 1.3km walk. However, the slightly longer 1.5km walk to Newtown station is a bit more fun as it passes through the bustling Enmore Road. Alternatively, the southern train lines are accessible via St. Peters train station, which is 1.8km.
